Welcome to our second week of competition. The season is about to start moving very quickly. Here is some info about this week and some upcoming events:
Carolyn Legard Relays – W.T. Woodson High School – 9:30 am
This is a fun meet! It is relays only, so everyone will have at least one “teammate” in this meet, even in the field. Since it is a very different meet, the order of events will also be quite different. An e-mail will be sent later on in the week with final line-ups. All athletes who are competing on Saturday should be in the athletic wing of Champe at 7am. See the milestat link below for the order of events, and the different relays being run!
Senior Knight is approaching!! (Already)
Our only home meet is April 10, so that will be our senior knight to honor our seniors and their dedication to the program. If you are a senior, please fill out the google form below by next Friday, April 6 so Coach Brandon has enough time to get everything together. More details to come on this day soon
What a great start to the outdoor season! We had a great bit of success this weekend on both the girls and boys side. The boys took home 1stplace and the girls came in a very close 3rdoverall. (only ½ point behind Stone Bridge)
Since we do not have a meet this weekend, we want to fill you in on some other events that we have coming up in the next few weeks:
Loudoun 8K/Half Marathon: April 7th, 2019
We have been volunteering at the Loudoun Half Marathon every year and want to continue to do so. This is a win-win situation! Not only do our athletes get volunteer hours, BUT some of the proceeds from the half marathon comes back to the program every year. We need as many athletes as possible as well as parents to help us out. Typically, we have been at a water station to hand out water and encourage the runners. Once the day gets closer, we will have a better idea of a time and exact location, but we wanted to get it on your calendar as soon as possible!
Pasta Dinners: Dates will vary
Every year, we have 2-3 team pasta dinners. These dinners are a great bonding experience for the team and are always a great time. We do these dinners potluck style with different courses (pasta, salad, etc.) assigned to different classes. All we need is for a few families to host for us. The dates that we are looking to have pasta dinners are March 29, April 5, and May 10. If any of these days work for you and you are willing to host, please let Coach Brandon know.
Tryouts are Tuesday, February 26th!
Make sure that you have all of your paperwork up to date. Tryout information is below.
